With anchovies and raw (or coddled) egg as the main ingredients, parmesan, dijon mustard and lemon juice to brighten it all up and a dash of salt to bring it all together, Chef Caesar Cardini developed a salad that has stood the test of time. Topped on a bed of romaine lettuce with croutons and some more freshly grated parmesan the Caesar salad is on nearly 50 percent of the restaurant menus across the country. #NationalCaesarSaladDay

Join Us to Celebrate National Fried Chicken Day. We are Celebrating with $6 Fried chicken all day!! In the United States, National Fried Chicken Day is observed each year on July 6th. On this day, fried chicken lovers across the country celebrate this American favorite at a nearby restaurant, home or an outdoor picnic. Scottish immigrants brought their tradition of deep-frying chicken in fat to the southern United States. After its introduction to the American South, fried chicken soon became a staple. Over time, seasonings and spices were added to enrich the flavor of the chicken. Fried chicken is a dish that consists of chicken pieces which have been floured or battered then pan-fried, deep-fried or pressure-fried. The breading adds a crisp coating to the exterior of the chicken. Traditionally the chicken is fried in lard. However, corn oil, peanut oil, canola oil or vegetable oil are also frequently used. #NationalFriedChickenDay

Join Us to Celebrate National French Fry day ! We are Celebrating with old bay fries, cheese fries, regular fries, how ever you like them !! Each year on July 13, many people will participate in National French Fry Day by enjoying one of the many varieties of the classic food. French fries, also known as chips, fries, finger chips or French-fried potatoes, are batons of deep-fried potatoes and are common fixtures at fast food restaurants that are loved by adults and kids alike! A wide selection of condiments such as ketchup, ranch dressing, vinegar, mayonnaise, honey mustard, cheese and many more compliment French fries. Sweet potatoes make an alternate, healthier offering of fries found on menus around the country. Other varieties are baked and come in unusual shapes such as curls, waffles, crinkle or tornado cut. The expression “French Fried Potatoes” first occurs in print in English in the 1856 work Cookery for Maids of All Work by E. Warren. It is believed by some that the term “French” was introduced to the potatoes when the American soldiers arrived in Belgium during World War I and consequently tasted Belgian fries. It is suggested that they called them “French” as it was the official language of the Belgian Army at that time. #NationalFrenchFryDay

Join Us at St. stephen's Green to Celebrate National Daiquiri day, We will be serving Daiquiris all day long ! Don't miss out Each year on July 19, people across the United States fill their glasses with a rum-based cocktail and toast to National Daiquiri Day. So, raise your glass and join all of the others in this celebration! Daiquiri is a family of cocktails whose main ingredients are rum, citrus juice (typically lime) and sugar. Tasting of sunshine and beaches, it might be hard to believe the daiquiri was likely invented by men blasting away in the mines of a small community off the coast of Cuba. Jennings Cox, an American engineer, supervised a mining operation located in a village named Daiquiri in 1898 during the Spanish-American War. Every day after work Cox and his employees would gather at the Venus bar. Then one day Cox mixed up Bacardi, lime, sugar in a tall glass of ice. Naming the new beverage after the Daiquiri mines, the drink soon became a staple in Havana. Eventually, shaved ice was used and sometimes lemons or both lemons and limes. In 1909, Admiral Lucius W. Johnson, a U.S. Navy medical officer, tried Cox’s drink and subsequently introduced it to the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. The popularity of the Daiquiri then increased over the next few decades. The Daiquiri was one of the favorite drinks of writer Ernest Hemingway and President John F. Kennedy. This drink is sometimes served frozen, combined and poured from a blender eliminating the need for manual pulverization. Drinks such as the frozen Daiquiri are often commercially made in machines which produce a texture similar to a smoothie and come in a wide variety of flavors. Another way to create a frozen Daiquiri is by using frozen limeade, which provides the required texture, sweetness and sourness all at one time. #NationalDaiquiriDay

On July 24 grab a lime and the salt. It’s National Tequila Day! Join us at St. Stephen's Green we will be celebrating all day with shots and Margaritas ! Made from the blue agave plant, tequila has a deep and storied history. Named after the small town of Tequila in a valley west of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, the spirit was known as mezcal wine about the time the conquistadors came to the continent. Many names we recognize on the labels today were the very first commercial producers of tequila. In fact, Jose’Antonio Cuervo held the first license for manufacturing the favored beverage, courtesy of the King of Spain. He kept well-known company. Don Cenobio Sauza and Félix López, also producers of tequila, whose businesses continue in some form today. Agave grows in a variety of forms. Blue agave, grown in the highlands region, are larger in size and sweeter in aroma and taste. Agave grown in the lowland regions have a more herbaceous fragrance and flavor. Like similar legislation for bourbon and cognac, Mexican law states tequila is only tequila if it is produced within Jalisco and limited regions in the states of Guanajuato, Michoacan, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. If the same ingredients are distilled anywhere else, it’s not tequila. While many have enjoyed tequila cocktails such as the margarita, tequila sunrise, and mojito, a good tequila can be savored like a good whiskey. Tequila is experiencing a renaissance of sorts as savvy drinkers discover tequila doesn’t have to be the firewater of our youth. #NationalTequilaDay
